E-Safety

What is E-Safety?

Web safety, or online safety or Internet Safety, is the knowledge of maximizing the user's personal safety and security risks to private information and property associated with using the internet.

We are aware that children have a strong knowledge and passion for technology. We don't want to restrict their use of the internet, tablets or games as these can provide an outlet of enjoyment, but also are a key learning tool. However, we find it very improtant to promote E-Safety to our children, and if they are accessing technology and online gaming; the risks they face, how to use it safely and more importantly, where to report something they're worried about.

E-Safety Day

We recently held a whole school E-Safety day, we focused on the children's needs from our recent child's E-Safety Survey. We started the day with a whole school assembly, and each class focused on an activity to promote being safe online. Our ideas were fed back in a whole school assembly.

We continue to promote and discuss E-Safety with the children throughout their computing lessons.

We posted this picture of some of our staff on Facebook, and asked the children to think about how many times it might be viewed, shared and where it would reach around the world.
